Working with Enterprise 6

Data List Manager

(This entry is a stub)

The Data Lists palette can be accessed via the [Data List Manager/Sets Functions] button and appears only when you have a list of records on screen. It disappears when a record is opened.

User-maintained lists

These are maintained by using the dragger at the top of a listing screen to drag a selection of records to a list in the Data List palette. Holding down the <Alt> key and dragging causes the Data List to be overwritten.Note: Please note that at present Enterprise 6 for Mac only allows the option of overwriting Data Lists using the <Alt> key.

System-maintained lists

These are maintained via a macro, but can be automatically generated by saving a search. They are very useful indeed for presenting up-to-date lists of data to users.

Sets Manager

Holding down the key when pressing the [Data List Manager/Sets Functions] button brings up the Sets dialog. The same applies when selecting Data Lists from the Functions menu after selecting Find/More Choices.

Sets functions also appear at the bottom of the Data List Manager palette and can be used to compare a set with the current selection generated by selecting a Data List.
