There are six general access levels requiring passwords:

Manager with Word Processing
Administrator
Designer (use restricted to Daybook consultants)
For details of what these passwords are, please contact support@daybook.co.uk.
How do I change passwords?
Passwords are changed using the Passwords function on the Core Menu in the Data Manager. Note that, because passwords are stored as part of the Enterprise 6 structure, whenever you receive upgrades to Enterprise 6, any altered passwords will revert to the originals listed above.
How do I change data files?
After typing the password at the window shown below, hold down the
On starting up, I am getting error -9939.
A folder entitled ‘Mac4DX’ (for Macintoshes) or ‘Win4DX’ (for Windows machines) must be in the same folder or directory as your Enterprise 6 structure. If this is not the case, this error is returned.
When I attempt to enter a line to an included list I get a duplicate key error
Each line in an included list contains its own unique code, which is not always displayed on screen. If there is a blank Contact or Order Item somewhere in the Data File, this item will have a code of zero. When you attempt to add a new line, Enterprise 6 will allocate a zero code to the new line (which will be altered when you start adding data to the line), thus causing a duplicate with the blank line already existing. You should perform a query on the relevant file (such as Contacts or Order Items) and list all records. For efficiency, perform this query either from the More Choices window or the User Query window (the Quick Query window sometimes will not find all records, for instance if you have ‘Find Data for Current User’ switched on). Perform a Sort on any field and the blank item should be moved to the top of the list.
Delete the blank record and you should then be able to carry on.
I get a message that 4D is trying to read beyond the end of the file
This means that the data file has become damaged and should be repaired using 4D Tools. Depending on the size of the data file, this can be a long process and it may be more convenient to revert to a back up.
Use the ‘Update Licence’ function on the Core menu in the Data Manager.
Having loaded Enterprise 6, I find I have no access to any volumes.
The Personnel access rights have been set up incorrectly. On a multi-user system, you will have to contact the System Administrator to get the access rights altered. On a single-user system, log on as the Administrator at the first password screen. Then, go the Data Manager, select ‘Personnel’ from the Core menu and go to the Access Rights page.
How do I print from a screen listing?
If you want to print a screen listing, you must use a ‘List…’ function (as opposed to a ‘View…’ function). When using any ‘List…’ function, or any other Enterprise 6 report (apart from certain General Ledger reports), Enterprise 6 will display a list of records on screen for you to select from, or sort.
Once the list is to your requirements, click the [√] button to signal to Enterprise 6 that you are ready to move on to the printing stage. If you wish to construct your own report, you can use the [Report] button. However, to do so, you must use a ‘View…’ function. This is the only way to print a screen listing when in the Data Manager.
Enterprise 6 is often crashing.
If Enterprise 6 often crashes, the chances are that the fault does not lie with the software itself. This is especially the case if it was previously reliable on your hardware. If the crashes are occurring on client machines:
Delete the Daybook preferences (.res and.rex files)
Reinstall the 4D Client
Check the machine out using standard diagnostics software
If the crashes are occurring on the server:
Check the machine out using standard diagnostics software
Check the data file using 4D Tools
Reinstall the 4D server
Reinstall the Enterprise 6 strcture file
Data that I am sure I entered yesterday does not appear to be in the system any
If you have more than one, it may be that you have loaded the incorrect data file. To be certain, when you enter your password, hold down the <Alt>key as you click the [OK] button. Select the correct data file from the subsequent dialogue box. Next time you load Enterprise 6, this data file will be opened automatically.
Note that 4D performs a Flush Buffers function periodically. If your system unexpectedly quits during this time, all data entry and modifications made since the last Flush Buffers will be lost.
