Using the Price Tables, you can relate the products and Companies to the Price Groups.
For example, we could attach a particular product (PIEAPT003) to the Price Group representing educational pricing. Alternatively, we could have created a single Price Table entry for a whole Group or Brand (this would be possible if, for example, all Apple products carried a fixed percentage educational discount). In the Sales Price field, we could have specified the special price for this product to be applied by this Price Table. Had we specified in the parent Price Group that educational pricing would be a fixed percentage discount, then a field where this percentage could be specified would appear in place of the Sales Price field.
The normal Retail and Standard prices for the product appear alongside as reminders.
Below this is a facility for applying quantity discounts. If this is required, simply enter here the quantity range between which the discount is to be applied.
The Price Table can be specific in that it applies only to the single Company whose Code appears in the Company field. You could, of course, create separate Price Table records for each of your Clients (just as you could for each of your products). However, the true flexibility of the Company field is that it gives you the capability to set up a single discount for a group of Companies (for example, schools) from which you can exclude a single company for a single product. Specifying a single Company is done at this screen, specifying a group of Companies is carried out when setting up Business Types in the Data Manager.
This function requires the Price Matrix companion module to be present. For more details, please turn to the Price Matrix section of the companion modules chapter in the Reference manual.
