If you have purchased QuickAddress itself and the QuickAddress companion module, and have allocated the Module to relevant Personnel, then the 'Other' Section of Preferences becomes available, where several new settings can be found.
First, there is the Data Files Path Name, that points to the position of the QuickAddress data files on disk.
Usually, due to their size, these files will be stored on a shared server machine, so the field might read 'Office Server:QA Data Files'. Alternatively it can be left blank if you put the data files in the 4D Client folder on each machine. If QuickAddress is unable to find the data file you will be given a warning message after using the Preferences.
There are six check boxes performing the same functions as the options available within the QuickAddress Control Panel and are largely self-explanatory: 'Commas at the end of address lines'; 'Abbreviated Counties' shortens the full names of Counties to the Post Office's approved abbreviations; 'Optional Counties' includes the County even when it is optional as far as the Post Office is concerned; and the three uppercasing options - 'Town', 'County' and 'All'.
For QuickAddress Postcode checking to apply, the check boxes 'Check' and/or 'Enforce' Postcode checking must be turned on in the UK-model Address Format record.
