The Diary Manager Volume of Enterprise 6 is a contact management system which can be used to record future appointments and, once they have been completed, to provide a contact history for each Company. It can also be used as a link with the Word Processing volume, through which individual letters and mailshots can be produced. For each Diary item, a value or time expended against any activity and further actions required can be stored. A time checking facility ensures that a date or time is not being double-booked. Appointments and Calendar functions are available, and Diary Items can be sent as messages to other members of Personnel.
The Diary Manager is supplied with two companion volumes: Sequences and the EnquiryWriter. The Sequences companion automatically invokes a series of diary actions when certain combinations of action and result occur. For example if a telephone call is unsuccessful because the prospect is absent, another call can automatically be placed in the Diary for the following day. All combinations and automated actions are fully user definable. The EnquiryWriter permits the entry of enquiries, quotations and orders from the Diary volume, thus providing access to the Sales Order Processing volume for sales personnel.
There are also various interface options for the diary, which you can select according to need. These range from fairly simple entry forms, to "day/week/month to a page"-type of screens. The diary also appears in various guises within other volumes. In this way it performs an important role in integrating the entire system.
