Actions
The Enterprise 6 Diary Manager is designed to be used both as a system to remind you to carry out certain tasks or appointments and, once these are in the past, to provide a reminder of when you did them and what the results were. Each Diary Item is given an Action Code representing the task to be carried out. These Action Codes are set up using this menu item.
Accessing ‘Actions’ on the Others menu in the Data Manager will bring up a list of the Actions that already exist. You can double-click on a line to modify that item or use the [+] button in the buttons palette to add a new one. If no Actions exist when you use the function, you will be taken to a blank input screen ready for the first Action to be entered.
As well as entering the Action Code and Name, you may also set the default Priority, Description and Document for the Action here. These will be brought in to the Diary screen once you have entered the Action Code.
Results
Once you have carried out a task, you will bring the corresponding Diary Item up on screen and enter a Result Code to signify that the task has been carried out and to show what happened. The Result Codes that you will use are set up using this function.
If you have the Job Costing volume, you should consider the Time Recording Result and Post Time to Jobs check boxes when entering Result Codes. When performing Time Recording via the Enter Time or View Time functions of the Job Costing Volume, only those Result Codes with the Time Recording Result check box switched on may be used. If the Post Time to Jobs check box is switched on, then the time spent achieving this result will be sent to the Job for billing. Clearly, switching the latter check box on while leaving the former off is nonsensical.
